Dresser Needs

So for the last two and a half years, I have been living out of tote bins. Just over three years ago I had moved out of my parent's home and into an apartment. Things didn't work out so I moved back home. At that point my parent's had also turned my childhood room into a guest room. I don't blame them but damn. The room wasn't even cold yet! HAHA

Fast forward to today. As you know from a few post ago, I moved in with Kyle. We live in a small one bedroom apartment. This sweet, dear man of mine, let me bring six bins with me. All clothes I needed for work, comfort, the different seasons, and what not.

I told Kyle, I needed a dresser and he agreed. We had this old TV entertainment stand in our bedroom that I used as a night stand. He was perfectly fine with me getting rid of it to be able to get a dresser.

After about two weeks of looking for the right dresser at IKEA, Walmart, Target, Big Lots, as well as looking online, I decided I was going to settle with this tiny four drawer dresser from Walmart, thinking I was also going to get a 3 drawer cart to put next to it.

Over this past weekend, Ky and I were at Walmart. I had the VERY heavy dresser in the cart and we were looking at the drawer sets to see what would be the best option for me. Little did we know, our plans were changing all together.

We found this nice three drawer, woven looking dark brown color (Espresso) drawer set. Kyle really liked it. He loves anything brown. Me, I find the color so so, but I did like the drawer set. You couldn't see into it. It looked very fancy for something made out of plastic. They also had a four drawer set too, but only one in the store. Kyle started thinking. "What is you get these instead of a dresser?" "Stack them. You can have several more drawers." Hmmm, that isn't a bad idea.

If you know my work history, you would know that I used to work at Plato's Closet for just about a year. So when I say I have a lot of clothes, I really mean that I have a lot of clothes. There are more at my parent's house too.

I have the Walmart app so I scanned the four drawer set into the app and I could order more and have them delivered in just a couple of days. I put the dresser back and as soon as I got home, I placed an order for four four drawer sets. Next step was to get the TV stand out of the bedroom.

I wasn't expecting the drawers to be delivered until today, Tuesday, January 5th but I had to go back to work today, so I asked Kyle if he would help me move the TV stand out yesterday so when I get back from work and my parent's I could set the drawers up. After a long, stressful battle, we finally got the TV stand outside. Little did I know, waiting for me out there were my four new drawer sets! The timing was incredible!

After getting all four upstairs, I spent the rest of the day trying to empty my bins of clothes and get rid of clothes that I don't like or that don't fit to make room. I still have one bin to go through, and I might keep on bin for shorts and jean, but until then, I got a lot done.

I am very happy with this idea better than getting a dresser that is too small or one that I don't like. Once I get all my clothes put away, I'm sure I will feel so proud of my hard work, and I will love seeing my new, beautiful "dresser."
