What inspires you? More like, who inspires you? The other day, my mom and I went to see Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again and it was very good. I laughed, I sang, I cried and I was very inspired. This movie was about how Donna had met Sophie's three dads, and how everyone is tied together, and how their story comes to play.

When I left the movie theatre, I was thinking about how free living Donna was in her youth. She graduated college, she had her girl band, she was early 20s and was just wanting to make the best of her life any way that she could. So it made me think, I am probably just a few years old than her character at the time, why don't I live my life like that? Why am I not as open to trying new things, travel the world, to make a new start? I love seeing inspirational movies, tv shows and performances to finding new inspiration everywhere.

After seeing this movie, I was thinking about what other characters that I have come across that have inspired me. Other than Donna, I was thinking about Andy Dufresne from Shawskank Redemption. Andy was sent to prison for "murdering" his wife. While in prison he kept his nose clean, he built a library, he even did the taxes for the guards, and the warden. He was not your typical prisoner. He was after all, "the only innocent man in Shawshank," according to Red.

Andy, like Donna, was sent out to make a place better. For Donna, it was to take this little broken shake in Greece and turn it into a beautiful hotel. Andy, it was to make positive changes in a prison to help prisoners to read and to make clear-cut changes for their futures.

These two characters were created to change other people's lives for the greater good. They inspired others. Donna inspired Sophie to take over the family business and make the hotel everything Donna wanted and more. She captured her mom's true dream. And Andy, so many prisoners were inspired by all that he did for them. Tommy was a young prisoner, he had a young daughter and only had two years at Shawshank. He wanted to get his G.E.D. so he could make something of himself on the outside. Andy helped him get it. Andy believed in Tommy, and Tommy was forever grateful.

"Get busy living or get busy dying." Red told that to Andy. When Andy broke out of prison he did just that. If you're living for a purpose, what are you living for? One of my life purposes is to always be inspired by something new. I always hope to inspire someone too.

My challenge to you for the week. Everyday, notice one thing that is inspiring. Take five minutes to realize after the fact how it inspired you. Share that with someone. I'd love if you shared it with me. Yes you. The beautiful soul reading this right now. What is inspiring to you?
